We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented FinOps Specialist to manage and optimize our cloud financial operations. As the Senior FinOps Developer, you will be the sole FinOps expert in the company, spearheading our efforts to optimize cloud costs and resources. This is a strategic and hands-on role, requiring deep expertise in cloud financial management and the ability to implement best practices across the organization. You will work closely with engineering, finance, and leadership teams to establish frameworks, tools, and processes for cloud cost management and optimization.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the FinOps strategy aligned with the company's goals.
  • Act as the primary advocate for cloud financial management practices across teams.
  • Analyze and optimize GCP services, including BigQuery, GCS, Compute Engine, Kubernetes, and more.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising performance or scalability.

  • Creating financial forecasts and identifying spending trends.
  • Implement and maintain FinOps tools for tracking and optimizing cloud usage.
  • Develop automation scripts to enforce budgetary controls and manage cost anomalies.
  • Partner with engineering and finance teams to forecast cloud budgets and track actuals.
  • Educate teams on cost-efficient cloud design and operational practices.
  • Create and deliver detailed cost analysis reports to stakeholders.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve financial and operational efficiency.
  • Managing projects and prioritizing tasks to improve processes.
  • Embedding FinOps methodologies within the organization to enhance cost awareness.
  • Managing resources in accordance with regulatory requirements to reduce compliance-related expenses
About The Position

You’ll be a great fit if…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, or a related role.
  • Proven record of leading Finops and achieving cost reduction in Google based services
  • Must have in-depth expertise with GCP services and billing models.
  • Strong knowledge of tools like Google Cloud Cost Management, CloudHealth, or Cloudability.
  • Ability to plan and monitor cloud budgets.
  • Creating financial forecasts and identifying spending trends.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Terraform).
  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic Thinking and linking FinOps policies to the organization’s long-term goals.
  • Quickly adjusting to technological changes and evolving needs.
  • Identifying costly issues and solving them innovatively.

Nice to have:

  • Certification in GCP (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Developer).
  • Experience in SaaS or high-growth environments.
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud cost management.
  • Knowledge of finance/accounting principles.
  • Experience with optimizing AI based cloud cost.
